Here's just a collection of a few random thoughts, many dealing with Harry Potter because, well, they do. First, here are just a few theories and such I have about book 7 (which WILL be called "Harry Potter and the Flame of Arnor"):
-Lupin will kill Fenrir Greyback. The real question is, will this kill Lupin in the process? *sigh* I'll only accept that if the alternative was marrying Tonks.
-The Inferi must be more important, but I don't know how. It seems like living wizards would be more useful to Voldemort because, well, they're wizards.
-Hogwarts must stay open because it's Hogwarts! I think Harry will have to go back there too, because of 1) the library, which he will need 2) adult wizardly advice (possibly from Dumbledore's painting) 3) it's Hogwarts! 4) JKR said there would be a new DADA teacher. Maybe this one will last?
-There's just so much to resolve this book will have to be 1,000 pages. I almost wrote "revolve" and that wouldn't have made any sense.
Let's see, what other random thoughts do I have. How about Lost? That show needs to have some kind of resolution soon, just in some small way. It just keeps building the mystery more and more, but at some point people have to start to figure it out. Otherwise it's just frustration 24/7. So, I hope somethings get resolved soon. Also, I don't think the "Others" Jack and co. encounted this last week are part of the same group that attacked Ana-Lucia's group. I think the other Others are more tribal. So, it sounds like the Island is divided up into territories. And the "Others" don't have access to any scissors.
For my final thoughts, I will just say I wish I had some chocolate drumsticks and it's almost spring!
Oh, one more HP thought. Snape is obviously very important. I think he's good, though still a jerk and a Harry hater, and I think he's going to help Harry find the horcruxes (possibly while using the H-BP nickname since only Harry and co. know about that name). But I also think he's going to die in the end, killed by either Voldemort or Order members who don't know he's good. (Plus, assuming Peter dies and if Lupin dies, I would hate for Snape to outlive all the Marauders.) Anyway, back to my original thought: I know he's important, but I think some people are overestimating his importance. He's important but I don't think he's going to kill Voldemort or anything. He's still just Snape. That's all. End of story. Good bye!

In Which I Expound on Horcruxes
Well, I've been a'thinkin and I think I have a pretty sweetbees theory regarding Harry and the Horcruxes. There are, as I see it, two possibilities that will basically decide the end of the book: 1) Harry is Horcrux or 2) Harry is not a Horcrux. I think these are both probable--there is evidence for both.
In regards to #2, I am inclined to believe he is not a Horcrux because I think Voldemort would have made his 7 Horcruxes by this point in his career. He would have made them early, before a serious bid for power or the war, as security. Also, Voldemort went to Godric's Hollow to kill Harry, not to make him a Horcrux. Thus, if Harry IS a Horcrux...
...It was an accident. I don't know the method for creating Horcruxes, but possibly it could have been an accident when Voldemort killed Lily (since he wasn't originally planning on killing her) or perhaps when his killing curse rebounded off Harry. So the way I see it: either there are 7 Horcruxes, and Harry is a non-Horcrux or there are 8 and Harry is an accidental one.
So, if Harry IS a horcrux, here's what I think will happen: Harry will have to overcome his fear of dementors (And Lupin will have to stock up on chocolate). A dementor is the only thing, I think, that could extract the portion of Voldemort's soul from Harry without killing Harry in the process. Since the dementors are breeding now they must be in pretty ready supply, too. So, here are some remaining questions:
1) If he is a Horcrux, how will Harry figure this out? Dumbledore told him that Voldemort transferred some of his power to Harry, will this clue Harry in? Maybe the question is: how long will it take Hermione to figure it out?
2) Is Voldemort aware that Harry is a Horcrux? He knows they have a connection, and you would think someone would notice losing a bit of their soul. Still, you may not notice if it happened while you were being ripped from your body.
3) How will Ginny and Tonks die?
And of course there are all those other pesky questions: How will he find them? How will he destroy them? He destroyed the diary, yes, but if it's that simple then why did Dumbledore get a blackened hand? I mean, really, how will he find them? I'm very concerned for young Mr. Potter. Early word is that there's a target release date for July 7, 2007...7/7/07. Hahahah, look at all those magic numbers.
P.S.: Cho is still an evil Ministry infiltrator.

Thoughts on One's Almost Profession
So, for various reasons (not really various, for one specific reason), I have been thinking about art and the creation of it lately. I've come to a few conclusions. I think learning to draw things as they are and as you see them (i.e.: realistically) is easier than learning to draw things 1) as you see them in your mind and 2) with your own style (however "realistic" that is). I mean, anyone can learn to draw a realistic portrait of a guy sitting in front of you. That's all well and good, but it's another thing entirely to draw a scene you see entirely in your head, and with your fingerprint on it no less. To quote Mr. Micawber, in short, I think developing your own style is more difficult than learning to draw from life.
That being said, I think you have to learn to draw from life, otherwise you won't know how to draw anything really well and make it look real. But once you know how to look at things and make them come out the end of your pencil, you can really go in any direction you like, and picking the direction is a whole different animal.
So, I'm not saying this to disparage myself or anyone else who obsesses over getting the right hair in the right place on someone's head, because that's fun. But for various reasons, I have to come to respect artists who can dream things up and put them down on paper and make them look awesome and original. And now I'm going to bang my head on the desk because I can't do that.
In other news, phlegm sucks and the aftertaste of cough drops sucks too. I got some lotion kleenexs today and they're pretty awesome. I also announced in my class today that my favorite artist NC Wyeth and the professor agreed that he is fantastic and underappreciated. Hurrah! One less person to convert. Of course, as a non-Western art professor I think he is probably naturally more open minded in his definition of "art." And, really, what is art anyway except what you think it is?
Oh, and just to be clear because I wasn't really: in this case I'm talking about drawing people and people sorts of things. This isn't an argument that abstract art takes more skill than realistic art.

The Semester of Slackitude
Really, hasn't it been long enough? Isn't the semester over now? I thought that's what Thanksgiving was: an end. Oops, well I guess I really should work on that paper then.
I saw GOF last weekend and it was pretty rockin'. I've heard many complaints about leaving out such and such, but I think POA established that leaving out things wasn't necessarily bad. I only disagree with how Barty Crouch Jr. was treated, but that's pretty minor. The Quidditch World Cup makes up for a lot. And Jason Isaacs. And Fire!Gary Oldman. And Harry of course!
The problem with Thanksgiving food is that afterwards no other food looks quite as good. The only thing that sounds as good is leftovers, which I don't have so I'm out of luck. I mean, what are raviolis compared to tasty turkey? Ramen is no match for green bean casserole. Actually, raviolis are pretty good...
Well, this is the first blog since the summer, and I hope it's not too anti-climactic. I guess my final words here are: The Corpse Bride was really good.

Ah-roooo!
I went to Chicago, something no one else has done. It's a pretty sweetbees place. I saw stuffed man-eating lions, a Caillebotte painting, fellow Harry Potter nerds and a lot of granola bars. I also had my picture taken with an amazingly accurate Snape and Dumbledore, which was sweetbees. I also missed seeing Harry and the Potters play at Borders, which made me as angry as a chizpurfle.
In other news, I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was possibly the most fun I've had at the movies all year. The cast was great, I loved all the Buckets, the music was so Danny Elfman and Willy Wonka had a great coat. Visually, I think it was Tim Burton's lightest movie. It still had all his wackiness though--phew! The worst part was that I missed almost the entire (new) trailer for Corpse Bride.
I read Kidnapped and Treasure Island a few weeks ago. Both were good, but Treasure Island was definitely more exciting and entertaining. It almost makes me want to see Treasure Planet again since now I know what they changed. But I think seeing Captain Smollett as a female cat would be rather disappointing now.
I've grown a powerful hunger for lasagna.

Hullabaloo!
I received an angry gletter today, insisting that I show my blogging prowess to the whole world. So here I am. Bow to me. That movie is so sweetbees.
I caught a spider on Animal Crossing, something no one else has even dreamed of doing. I also caught about four eels, so I don't know quite why they're rEELy hard to catch.
In more exciting news, Hugh Jackman is starring in and producing a Wolverine movie. This means that it's actually going to be made, and I would suspect it would be made right after X3 is filmed, since he'd already be in character and whatnot. In the bad X-Men news, Halle Berry is back for #3, with an "expanded role." Maggie Grace (Shannon on Lost) is signed on to play Shadowcat. So, whatever...that will only work if Boone is there to give her a hard time. And of course Juggernaut is in the mix too, and I don't really know how I feel about that. It seems like there are a few too many cooks working on this stew. Let's check the roster, shall we? We have the full X-Men roster from #2 (including Nightcrawler and Jean Grey) with the addition of Beast and Shadowcat and an expanded Storm. On the bad side, we have Magneto and Mystique (I assume Mystique) and now Juggernaut also. I think I heard some other villain mentioned also... So... many cooks. Of course, X2 juggled a lot of characters very well so I will be optomistic.
Blah blah blah... anyway, Cho Chang is an evil Ministry imposter.

Once I heard this joke about Pokemon and it started like this: Why shouldn't you look at Pokemon?
I saw Revenge of the Sith. It was all about how Anakin left pregnant Padme at the Wal-Marts. Later he lost his legs to the Obi-Wan Express and the Emperor taught him to sing country music. It was pretty sweetbees.
I also saw this movie called Sky Captain, and I realized Gwyneth Paltrow sounds like a donkey without an English accent. I also realized again that Jude Law is extremely overrated, unless he's playing an unseen, mysterious author.
How come no one blogs anymore? It's the summer time and isn't summer about blogging? And where is all the quiz taking? Well, I am contributing to both here and I expect everyone to follow suit!

Chama Chama
Ah, life. It is rather good. First, in Harry Potter news: I am excited about it.
Summer movie season is about to get started with Ep. III opening. I have my ticket and that alone is pretty sweet. I'm avoiding full reviews right now, but preliminary reports are saying it's awesome.
I watched Episode I last week. In some ways, it was not as bad as I remembered. In other ways, it was just as bad. I think Anakin's "Yippee!" is possibly the worst delivery of a bad line in the history of movies. On the up side, Ewan McGregor was good and Liam Neeson did his best, even when talking about midichlorians. I also didn't realize that Kiera Knightley actually doubles as Amidala--I thought she was an in-the-background Amidala assistant. The difference between the two is now quite obvious.
I also watched Episode II and I have some theories on Anakin's acting. I am 99% positive that George Lucas is behind his acting problems. After all, Luke and Leia were just as wooden in Return of the Jedi. I also think perhaps Lucas wanted him to be flat because he's a Jedi and is supposed to be so in control of himself. He best (acting) scene is when he kills the sand people, and he's not in control in that scene. That is my theory anyway.
In other news, poor Kingdom of Heaven. I guess the world just doesn't want historical epics anymore. Yet I am drawn to it nonetheless.
To sum up: Harry Potter is great. Episode III is getting great buzz and is hopefully great. Kingdom of Heaven--alas.

Put 'Em High
Well, it's that time again--summer time! That means I get to start bombarding all blog readers with endless movie news. Kingdom of Heaven was the #1 movie this weekend, with 20 million. People actually saw House of Wax, but only enough to get 11 million and second place. Even that paltry sum will probably lead to sequel, which is the bad news.
I hope everyone's managed to see the Narnia teaser. I saw it on a kind of fuzzy screen, but it looked awesome. I think the scene at the Stone Table could be really intense. A ridiculous nitpick--the wardrobe is shown covered with a sheet. As I recall, there was no sheet involved in the book. Pshaw!
I just watched the Goblet of Fire teaser tonight. I think they were taking up valuable GOF time with character reminiscing, but the second half showed some great stuff. I really like the sound of Dumbledore in this one, and I'm glad that they went with a more active Dumbledore after Richard Harris's death. I do think Fleur looks about thirteen years old but...who cares about Fleur besides Ron anyway? I'm still waiting for a look at Moody, but I guess he'll probably require some intense post-production work for his eye.
In other news, I saw Hotel Rwanda, which was very good. I also spent a lot of the last week with two hilarious little boys and had a blast. I had some ice cream tonight too. So, life is good. (And Episode III is less than two weeks away!)

Bless Harry Potter's Beautiful Hide
So, this is the kind of stuff that makes me ashamed of fellow Potter fans: crazy fangirls setting up hate sites for the Cho Chang actress. Yes, Cho is wretched but come on...let's try to be a little grown up about this.
In related news I am homeless for the time being, a parasite on surrounding relatives and living the suitcase lifestyle. It's the done-with-school perks I guess.
I guess I don't really have much to say. ABC is airing Chamber of Secrets on May 7th and they're going to intersperse it with scenes from the GOF trailer. Woo hoo! Even better, the trailer is out on the 13th, online and attached with Kicking and Screaming. It may not have Gerard Butler in it, but I'd be willing to see another soccer movie if it has some quality Harry Potter action. (I saw Game of Their Lives this weekend and it was pretty good.)
I read some old blogs this past week and it brought back all kinds of fan fiction memories. Some good, some...not so good. I had forgotten about the pregnant Harry fic. It's just wrong on so many levels.

Sunset Station
I just took the first final of the season. I guess it was okay, but I'll find out for sure on Monday.
This probably isn't surprising, but I'm getting kind of tired of these bugs crawling all over my window. They always seem to get inside my room and crawl where I do not want them. I'm also kind of tired of seeing them mate on my window too. I mean, don't they realize that everyone can see them? No sense of decency in bugs these days.
I was reading some of my old blogs the other day and I used to impart a lot more upcoming movie info. So, here's some taste of the old blog flavor:
-In a sign of the Apocalypse, writers are now working on a Baywatch movie.
-On May 7th, Chamber of Secrets is airing on TV along with the first clip of Goblet of Fire! (That makes up for the Baywatch news)
-Bruce Willis has that the only Die Hard that has any "merit" is the first one. My question is: why did he do the others?
-I won't deny that I want to see Kingdom of Heaven. I guess that counts as news.
In another toast to the old blogs, I have a fan fiction sound byte for the day. It's from a super sweetbees fic about Hermione and Draco getting together after Hermione becomes a skank. I mean gets a makeover.
"Ginny and Hermione changed clothes and went to Hogsmeade. They went to "Sophania's wardrobe" and there were lots of trendy muggle clothes.
This probably isn't surprising, but I'm getting kind of tired of these bugs crawling all over my window. They always seem to get inside my room and crawl where I do not want them. I'm also kind of tired of seeing them mate on my window too. I mean, don't they realize that everyone can see them? No sense of decency in bugs these days.
I was reading some of my old blogs the other day and I used to impart a lot more upcoming movie info. So, here's some taste of the old blog flavor:
-In a sign of the Apocalypse, writers are now working on a Baywatch movie.
-On May 7th, Chamber of Secrets is airing on TV along with the first clip of Goblet of Fire! (That makes up for the Baywatch news)
-Bruce Willis has that the only Die Hard that has any "merit" is the first one. My question is: why did he do the others?
-I won't deny that I want to see Kingdom of Heaven. I guess that counts as news.
In another toast to the old blogs, I have a fan fiction sound byte for the day. It's from a super sweetbees fic about Hermione and Draco getting together after Hermione becomes a skank. I mean gets a makeover.
"Ginny and Hermione changed clothes and went to Hogsmeade. They went to "Sophania's wardrobe" and there were lots of trendy muggle clothes.
Ginny and Hermione exchanged excited looks and started choosing. Hermione chose tube tops, spaghetti strapped shirts, sleeveless shirts, mini skirts and shorts, plus a black evening gown for the end-of-year ball. She bought them all and started wearing one of the mini shorts and tube tops. Ginny bought mini dresses, low-cut jeans and sleeveless shirts. She also started wearing them too.
They held large shopping bags and walked to the "Shoes for girls like me" shop. They each chose three pairs of shoes. Hermione bought high heel boots , high heel slippers and sneakers. Ginny bought boots, slippers. Hermione started to put on the high heel slippers, Ginny also.
After that, one thing was left. Their hair. They went to "The Girls Hair Salon". Hermione straightened her hair and dyed it blond and streaks of black and brown. Ginny dyed her hair light brown and trimmed an inch. They walked out and people started looking at them, trying to figure out who they were."

Blog to Infinity
I was planning to be the first back on the blog bandwagon and I got outfoxed.
I had some chow mein tonight. It was the best chow mein I have had in the history of my entire existence and I liked it so much I took two hours to eat it. I followed it up with the best water ever and threw in some best ever Cheetos too. The memory of that chow mein will keep me going. Mmm.
I watched Ninja Turtles this morning, as usual. Bishop got impaled on a hook, which was pretty rad. But somehow he got off and escaped again. Clearly the man has some kind of superhuman getting-off-the-hook abilities. My strange fascination called W.I.T.C.H. has disappeared so I didn't get my Saturday morning anime fix, alas.
So I caught some I Want a Famous Face tonight about a girl who "always had a passion for acting." I don't know what kind of movies she wants to be in though since she's planning to break into the biz through Playboy. That's not a passion for acting that's a passion for getting attention. So, this led me to a conclusion. 95% of new actresses don't want to be actresses, they just want to be celebrities. So now more than ever, the future of serious film lies in Bollywood.
Sad news. I checked out Ebay to scope out the elusive and awesome Unleashed Boba Fetts. Apparently he is the Harley Quinn of the Unleashed world because the man is going for $100. So far my solution is to say to the world: if you ever corner the elusive Boba Fett in a store, buy him. I will not only pay you back but will also give you a sticker.
I think I need more best ever water and possibly some crazy fun Star Wars pop-tarts.

I Want to Break Free
Well, since everyone seems to have abandoned the blogging tradition I guess I will carry the torch until Reimburser makes it popular again.
Is it weird to get a word stuck in your head? I have "minorly" in my head, except with a Boston accent. Minahly.
So, I saw some good flicks this weekend. I saw...something. I watched Turtles on Saturday as usual, though it didn't have that great emotional punch of last week. Then I watched some show on ABC called W.i.t.c.h., and, despite its oh-so-popular Saturday morning Anime-ness, it entrances me. Maybe because it looks so much better than Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh. Back to movies, I got Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and I watched some memorable scenes from that. Then I saw Finding Neverland today, and it was such a fantastically beautiful movie (and it made me really like Kate Winslet again).
In other news, I have nothing to say. Hmmm. Guess that means it's time for fan fiction!

Supa Fly
I'm kind of on a Harry Potter high right now. Just a warning.
So, I just saw this little promotional poster for GOF today. I think it's funny that they put Hermione in the middle. And that they aren't even pretending anymore that she's not supposed to be pretty. They also used a wretched picture of Ron, and my light just burned out. Hmm. Another interesting fact: it listed Patrick Doyle (Sense and Sensibility) as the composer. I heard that a while ago, but it was just a rumor then. So, John Williams is taking a break, though I guess Patrick Doyle is working around the established Lumos! theme. I'm excited about this because I like Patrick Doyle. I had an awesome thought though: Tim Burton+Harry Potter=one crazy movie
I feel like Dr. Finklestein when he says "Ohhhh my head" except I want to say "Ohhh my stomach."
...hmm. So I found out boa constrictors can kill alligators. I also found out that pretty much the only thing boas don't digest is teeth. Seriously, the animal kingdom has the most random trivia in it.
OK, so my light came back on. I guess it's one of those new-fangled bulbs that turns off and recharges or something.

Your Mom Goes to College.
So I was watching tv the other day, and I have to announce that the popular sitcom I was watching contained a horrible wrong fact. NO, Caravaggio was NOT part of the Renaissance! He wasn't even close--stylistically or chronologically! DON'T SAY THAT HE WAS. Who did that research and were they fired afterwards?
I saw Series of Unfortunate Events again last night. That's such a great movie. HOW did The Aviator beat it for costumes at the Oscars? Yes, I'm sure The Aviator had great, historical costumes. But SOUE had INVENTIVE costumes! Inventiveeeeee! Someone PLEASE award them for their inventiveness. I also have to say that Jim Carrey's voice as Uncle Monty's assistant is great.
Well, I hope everyone's seen the Half-Blood Prince book covers. Who else thinks that Dumbledore is going to be a lot more active in this one? For you unfortunate souls, here is the American cover. And because I am generous: here is the UK kids cover and here is the UK adults cover. And the UK adults cover? Ummm, yeah, everyone heard me say last summer that I think Snape is the H-BP right? Just so we're all clear on that.
I heard an interesting theory on Harry the other day. Try this on for kicks: Lily is a descendant of Slytherin--hence, the green eyes that are so important. JKR said something big about Lily would be revealed in #6--maybe this is it? Hmm. And I still say Cho isn't Cho. Just so we're all clear on that.

Stick a Fork in Me
I'm done. Can we skip to Friday please? I would like to bypass everything this week except for Lost, and I can tape that and watch it on Friday. Doesn't anyone know a good cloner? Possibly one that uses age acceleration. As a measure of how much this day sucks, I couldn't spell "acceleration" for about fifteen minutes, and was seriously thinking "exceleration" must be right.
So, the Oscars. How unsatisfying and boring were they? I mean, Series of Unfortunate Events goes home without the best costume design award? Did the voters see the movie? Fie on you, Academy.

*sigh* So, there's been a lot of debate about movie recommendations lately. All I have to say is, if a movie didn't appeal initially, it's hard to take anyone's recommendation on it. But hey, I saw some Open Water and probably some other stuff. Didn't I? I saw Treasure Planet anyway.
I'm watching Prisoner of Azkaban on Friday. I cling to this thought. Does anyone else get misty-eyed when he flies Buckbeak the first time? Maybe that's just me. Expecto Patronum!

Cookie and Smitty
This weekend was so super sweetbees. I hope everyone had such a sweetbees weekend as me. I hope to repeat it ASAP.
Well, I'm a respectable member of society now, because I own a game console. Yes, friends, there is a happy little Gamecube sitting in my room right now. Unfortunately I haven't even got a chance to hook it up yet because of homework. But tomorrow night spells freedom (after Lost of course) and then the fun will begin! While I wrote my prospectus I kept smelling one of the controllers. It smells like brand new plastic. Mmm.
iPods are the new cell phones.
In other news, Reimburser's disappearance continues. Maybe he got sucked into a computer.

Chocolate Frogs
In the Chamber of Secrets video game, chocolate frogs are the size of house cats. I don't think I would want to eat one of those.
No tax return yet, alas. I must continue to have a parasitical relationship with other people's consoles. But one day... The parasite will become the parasite host--like a dog's ear I will become.
We talked about insect chirpings in class today. It just made me think about the insect room of the museum in AC. I like that room, especially when it has ladybugs and butterflies.
So I've heard some questions about filming Open Water with sharks and things. I read an interview with the large cast once and, apparently, those sharks are real and exactly where they appear to be. I assume they were well-fed beforehand. Or possibly genetically altered, because that is all the rage these days.
PS: My guess for best picture is The Aviator. Just so we're all clear on that.
